Role Summary

The VP Development is the senior technical leader responsible for setting the engineering vision, overseeing execution across all software teams, and ensuring consistent delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions. This role bridges engineering, architecture, and C-level strategy while driving process maturity, organizational growth, performance excellence, and technical innovation.The VP Development guides engineering managers, programming leads, and architects, defines technical standards, and ensures alignment between business objectives and engineering output.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across engineering teams and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Define long-term engineering vision, architecture direction, and technology frameworks.
• Oversee multi-team delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, architects, and product teams on planning and prioritization.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding guidelines, and system architecture principles.
• Lead scaling initiatives including hiring, team structuring, skills development, and performance frameworks.
• Improve processes across SDLC, Agile, DevOps, CI CD, QA, and release governance.
• Implement engineering KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and operational dashboards.
• Drive risk management, technical assessment, and improvement planning.
• Mentor engineering leaders and strengthen technical leadership capabilities across the department.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering leadership.
• Proven experience managing large, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong background in enterprise architecture, scalable system design, and technical strategy.
• Expertise in Agile delivery, DevOps, CI CD, and modern cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-level reporting skills.
• Ability to drive organization-wide transformation and deliver results at scale.
